Eamon Molloy Memorial Scholarship Selection Criteria 

The Eamon Molloy Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a Selection Committee consisting of a representative from Dr Ngau Boon Keat; Molloy family; donors; and the University of California Foundation.

The Eamon Molloy Memorial Scholarship, established in 2010, is awarded annually to one Asian national by the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.

The scholarship of NZ$15,000 (INR 7.21 lakh) is awarded to only one undergraduate student who is eligible or has taken admission in any stream/field of the university in the second, third or fourth year of study. The award can only be used for tuition and necessary expenses.

Terms and Conditions

Here are some of the main terms and conditions of the scholarship:

• Awarded for first year tuition and required expenses.
• If the student has already paid full fees, the balance of the scholarship will be credited to his/her student fee account upon arrival in New Zealand.
• Failure to accept a scholarship offer must be accepted within one month (usually specified in the offer), which may result in the scholarship being redistributed to the next applicant in line.
• Awarded only to citizens of specified countries holding a valid New Zealand student visa for full-time UG courses.
• The Award will not be awarded this year if the selection committee is unable to find a suitable candidate for the Award.
• To take their courses and programs to the international level, the winner of the Eamon Molloy Memorial Scholarship must participate in promotional activities carried out by the university.
• The recipient must maintain full-time student status on campus.
• Renewal of the scholarship is conditional and contingent on sufficient academic performance and compliance with university laws.
• If the conditions of previously won awards allow the applicant to receive another award, that award may be added to any previously won award. In this case, the applicant must inform the selection committee, which, in turn, will fully determine the financial needs of the applicant.
• In order to receive the scholarship form on time, applicants are advised to search the university website approximately two months before the closing date of admission.
